IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Procurement Lead to join our industry-leading Project Delivery and Construction team at our growing Basel, Switzerland office.
The Procurement Lead oversees and directs activities related to corporate and project procurement, contracts administration of equipment, materials, and services, and manages efforts for assigned IPS offices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and monitor procurement and contract administration efforts.
2. Negotiate, manage, and leverage agreements at the project or program level.
3. Review and manage supplier agreements and provide procurement support for projects or programs.
4. Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of procurement deliverables; ensure compliance with IPS standards and procedures; and provide guidance to procurement staff.
5. Develop strategic business plans for procurement aligned with company goals, including technical and regulatory activities.
6. Assist in strategic planning for the company.
7. Develop departmental policies, technical standards, and procedures for procurement.
8. Coordinate policies and standards across divisions and departments.
9. Determine labor, resource, and financial needs; establish procurement budgets; review and approve cost reports.
10. Implement quality systems and recommend process improvements.
11. Establish productivity measures and reporting systems; review performance reports regularly.
12. Serve as the contact for inter-office labor, work sharing, and outsourcing with consultants.
13. Conduct regular meetings with Project Managers and discipline leaders to ensure communication.
14. Handle special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management.
2. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
3. At least 10 years’ experience in Engineering and Construction Administration.
4. Minimum 5 years of management responsibility with proven strategic management in procurement and contracts.
5. Experience in Contract law.
6. Certified Purchasing Manager is a plus.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team-building skills.
8. Ability to build rapport with staff and manage client relationships.
9. Effective negotiation and communication skills.
