We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Head Office Commercial Team (HOCT), remotely based in Geneva, Switzerland. In this strategic role, you will focus on capturing and nurturing business leads, identifying service development opportunities, and driving growth within the marine stakeholder community, including charterers, traders, financiers, brokers, and shipowners.
Join a dynamic team: Becoming part of our HOCT means joining a collaborative and innovative team that works closely with the Geneva-based Marine Corporate Affairs & Partnerships (MCAP)Director. Together, you will drive growth in our existing portfolio of services (Classification and Advisory) while expanding our offering to meet the evolving needs of marine stakeholders.
Your main missions:
Lead Generation:
1. Leverage the network and relationships of the MCAP Director to capture leads for existing services.
2. Collaborate with the M&O business development network to convert leads into opportunities.
3. Drive indirect sales through strategic partnerships and relationships.
Service Portfolio Expansion:
4. Work with the MCAP Director to identify market needs and expectations for new services.
5. Identify and qualify new services to expand M&O’s portfolio and client base.
6. Collaborate closely with R&D, Commercial Product Management (CPM), Future Shipping Team (FST), and global product lines to develop and bring new services to market.
7. Contribute to the go-to-market strategy for new products and services.
Industry Representation and Promotion:
8. Represent Bureau Veritas at key industry events, associations, and forums (., Swiss Trading & Shipping Association, Propeller Club, Geneva Dry, .
9. Promote Bureau Veritas by presenting, speaking, and participating in panels, showcasing our expertise, thought leadership, and service offerings.
10. Enhance BV's brand visibility and reputation within the marine stakeholder community.
Your strengths for success:
11. Experience: You have over 10 years of experience in the marine industry, ideally working with target stakeholders such as charterers, traders, financiers, brokers, or shipowners.
12. Expertise: Proven track record in business development, sales, and account management within the maritime sector.
13. Knowledge: Strong understanding of marine services, regulations, and industry trends.
14. Skills: Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with strategic thinking and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
15. Language: Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
