Job Description
On behalf of our partner agency in Switzerland,
We’re excited to be Looking on behalf of a warm and generous international family who are relocating from London to Zug this summer. They’re looking for two experienced and highly educated nannies to join them in a long-term role, ideally starting between July and early September.
The family has four bright and curious children between the ages of 3 and 10, all of whom are thriving academically and full of energy and personality. They attend the same school during the day, and the parents usually handle the morning drop-offs. The two nannies will each take care of two children: one nanny for the younger pair (ages 3 and 5) and one for the older two (ages 7 and 10).
Both roles are full-time, averaging 40 to 43 hours per week, with working hours typically from 11.30am to 7.30pm. During school holidays, the schedule might shift to an earlier start, such as 8am to 6pm. Some travel may be involved during the summer, usually no more than two weeks at a time. The family never requires help over Christmas.
The ideal candidates will bring not only warmth, professionalism and experience, but also a genuine passion for education. For the older children, the family is looking for a nanny who can support and encourage them with their schoolwork — someone who’s confident helping with reading, writing, maths and general academic enrichment. A background in education, tutoring, or supporting gifted children would be a real advantage here.
The nanny for the younger children should also be educationally minded, with a creative and thoughtful approach to early years development. Someone who can plan engaging, play-based activities that also build confidence and early learning would be a great fit.
German is important to this family, as they are settling in the local area. Ideally, at least one nanny should be a native German speaker, and the second nanny should have some good working knowledge of the language. Both nannies will need to drive — a car is provided for use during working hours — and both must hold either an EU passport or a valid Swiss work permit with several years left to run.
The family has arranged private accommodation for the nannies nearby — a small, comfortable flat with separate bedrooms. They will also have the support of a full-time housekeeper and a weekend nanny-housekeeper, so there are no cleaning or laundry duties involved. You may be asked to prepare simple meals for the children until a cook or housekeeper is in place.
The family are used to employing nannies and have built close, long-standing relationships with them. Their much-loved London nanny has been with them for over six years and is sadly unable to relocate, which is why they’re now looking for two exceptional new team members to support them through this next chapter.
This is a lovely opportunity for educated, thoughtful nannies who enjoy encouraging young minds and supporting families in a meaningful, long-term way. The salary offered is competitive, in the range of CHF 80,000 to 95,000 per year.
