JOB PURPOSE

We believe our technical teams are just as important in engaging our guests as they are in supporting our entertainment program throughout the journey. The Junior Entertainment Technician (AV)/DJ is an integral part of the entertainment technical team in delivering world class entertainment, experiences and enrichment for our guests and crew, while creating a transformative luxury ocean travel experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Junior Entertainment Technician (AV)/DJ will be an exceptional brand ambassador following and maintaining Explora Journeys’ principles, policies, and practices.
• Provide audio and video support as required in various lounges and venues throughout the ship for experiences, activities, rituals, and musical performances.
• Maintain the highest production standards for all set-ups, sound checks, rehearsals and performances.
• Work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with the Technical Entertainment & Broadcast Manager, Technicians, Entertainment Staff and performers to ensure that all pertinent stage setups, requirements and cues are clearly understood and documented if needed.
• Working knowledge and understanding of all lounge technical systems including but not limited to audio, lighting and video systems including the ability to perform inspections, troubleshooting and carry out minor repairs.
• Perform all additional responsibilities as assigned by the Technical Entertainment & Broadcast Manager.
• Deliver an exceptional DJ experience.
• Demonstrate excellent judgement and professionalism in selecting relevant content and sound volume appropriate to the audience and venue.
• Be prepared to perform curated experiences at all times, days, onboard, in-ports and, where appropriate, ashore
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
• Proficient in English. Additional European languages are considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in an often forward-facing role with the ability to engage luxury level guests.
• Professional DJ experience with the ability to read an audience.
• To have a large and diverse music library which will be suitable for our guests and the journey.
• To be comfortable playing alongside different band setups, e.g., two-piece, Quartet etc.
• Physically & medically fit as per Explora Journeys Company policy.
• Computer literacy required.
