How will you shape our tomorrow?
Reporting to the Market Intelligence and Data Director, your role will mainly focus on providing advanced data analysis to decision makers in various international functions.
* Design, execute and deliver analysis for the various functions in SIS as well as international teams, using the Sonepar Data Lake (Sales & Purchase transactions of the 30+ Operating Companies) and other Market Intelligence data sources.
* Translate business research requirements into data extraction, cleaning and analysis which includes a clear summary of the insights uncovered.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand business data structures and overcome possible technical challenges.
* Build and maintain dashboards with compelling visualizations.
* Get feedback from internal stakeholders to continuously improve the relevance of the analysis delivered.
* Extract, clean, and integrate data (through web‑scraping or APIs) from various external sources such as macro‑economic data, geographical data to deliver impactful map‑based visuals to support Sonepar branch network strategy.
* Efficiently manage workload of projects of various sizes and anticipate next steps and potential bottleneck situations to ensure a smooth delivery of analysis.
* From the web analytics platforms pull data quality performance KPIs and draw meaningful correlations analysis.
* Propose new advanced analysis that help internal stakeholders to spot trends and opportunities.

* Reduce data quality issues related to data products under ownership.
The Experience You Bring
* Proven experience of minimum 3 years (excluding internships) in delivering analysis in the retail/wholesale domain or in analysis sales/purchasing data.
* Ability to write clean and efficient SQL to extract and clean data from large datasets.
* Strong proficiency in a programming language used for advanced data analytics such as Python or R.
* Proficiency in managing data projects on cloud data platforms in Azure Databricks.
* Previous experience in building impactful PowerBI dashboards and maintaining them.
* Expertise in Microsoft Excel and some experience in building PowerPoint summary presentations.
* Experience in statistical modeling and predictive analytics would be a plus.
* Knowledge about web analytics would be a plus.
* Work/located in Geneva.
* Languages required/level: English – fluent (written & spoken). French and/or another language would be a plus.
