Job Overview
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be part of a challenging environment with highly skilled professionals. Your mission will be to ensure all employees are paid on time, that pay checks are accurate, and that payroll analysis, statistics, and declarations are performed. This role covers a maternity leave until the end of May 2026.
Your Responsibilities
* Ensure accuracy of personal data in the payroll system
* Be responsible for payroll processing: collect financial information needed for payroll processing, verify variable data such as maternity, sickness, accident indemnities and miscellaneous allowances
* Manage withholding taxes
* Process monthly payroll checks, ensure validation of the payment to the bank, upload files into the bank website, and ensure proper validation by authorized signatories
* Create the accounting interface for salary information onto the accounting system
* Establish the month‑end payroll accruals
* Ensure compliant management of equity and shadow payroll management (tax and social contribution)
* Validate and complete monthly and annual social contributions declarations
* Perform monthly accounting reconciliations
* Produce year‑end personal tax certificates and appendices
* Prepare payroll reports and statistics for HR and Finance Departments under supervision of the Payroll Manager
* Answer all employee payroll requests
* Follow relevant legislation compliance and internal policies
* Follow up SOX compliance and manage internal and external audit requests
* Perform other administrative, finance or human resources‑related duties as required
* Participate in various payroll projects under the lead of the Payroll Manager
* Travel to our Fribourg manufacturing location as necessary
Qualifications
* Economic education (HES), HR assistant certificate or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll management in Switzerland, ideally experience in an international industrial company
* Excellent knowledge of Swiss standard conditions, including pension funds, social security insurances, taxes and benefits
* Fluent in French & English is required
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Good organizational skills and detail‑oriented
* Flexible to adapt to a fast‑paced and rapidly changing environment
* Honest, reliable, and discreet
* Service‑oriented and team player
* Candidates with in‑house and outsourcing experience will have a strong advantage
