1 | 126. September 2024Junior Group Leader: Probabilistic AI Research Group (PAIR) at TIDITFounded in January 2024, the Thurgau Institute for Digital Transformation (TIDIT) is a new research institute based in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. TIDIT is part of the Digital and Innovation Campus Thurgau (DICT) and is one of four research institutes supported by the Thurgau Foundation for Science and Research (TSWF). At TIDIT, we work on current topics of applied basic research in the field of computer science, in particular data systems and probabilistic artificial intelligence. In this way, we actively contribute to the digital transformation in the Canton of Thurgau and Eastern Switzerland. As an affiliated institute, TIDIT closely cooperates with both the University of Konstanz and the HTWG Konstanz in nearby Germany. The Probabilistic AI Research (PAIR) Group at TIDIT combines probabilistic methods with deep learning and causality to address challenges such as uncertainty, robustness, and lack of interpretability in AI models. We are looking for a Junior Research Group Leader with● PhD in computer science, statistics, machine learning, or related fields.● Expertise in probabilistic AI and deep learning.● Proven track record of publications at major conferences such as AIStats, ICML, NeurIPS, and othersTopics of interest include (but are not limited to)● Bayesian Deep Learning: Enhancing AI models by incorporating uncertainty into predictions for more reliable outcomes.● Interpretable AI: Developing transparent and understandable models● Causal Inference: Building AI systems that provide clear, justifiable decisions, increasing trust.● Uncertainty-Aware AI: Creating systems that detect when they encounter unknown scenarios. We offer● two fully funded PhD researcher positions per junior research group,● the possibility to affiliate oneself with the University of Konstanz or HTWG Konstanz, ● support to apply for third-party funding and performance-based rewards, and ● quality of life in the international Lake Constance region.Join us to lead innovative AI research tackling real-world uncertainties!Questions about the position may be directed to oliver.duerr@tidit.chWe look forward to receiving your application with the usual documents (curriculum vitae, research statement as well as a list of publications, awards, courses taught, and funded projects, including funding amounts) by 01 December 2024 to info@tidit.ch.
