Responsibilities Core Java Development & System Engineering Design, develop, and optimise Java-based applications with a focus on quality, maintainability, and scalability.
Collaborate within an agile team to refine requirements and deliver robust backend solutions.
Analyse application behaviour, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to architectural improvements.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous software quality.
Prepare technical documentation, test results, and implementation guidelines.
Coach and support colleagues in best practices for Java development and modern engineering methods.
Performance Engineering (Trainable Area) Candidates are not required to already have performance testing expertise - strong willingness to learn is sufficient.
Support performance test activities (load tests, stress tests, tuning) with guidance from senior engineers.
Learn performance testing tools and methodologies (training and onboarding provided).
Assist in analysing bottlenecks and evaluating system scalability.
Mandatory Skills Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, and design patterns.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).
Experience with relational databases and SQL.
Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD/BDD).
Fluent German.
Nice-to-Have Skills Basic exposure to any performance testing concepts, OR strong willingness to learn performance engineering.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes.
Soft Skills Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving attitude.
Proactive, curious, and willing to learn advanced performance engineering topics.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
