Senior Layout IC Engineer
I am recruiting for a Senior Layout IC Engineer on behalf of my client, a long-established semiconductor company based in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. This is a stable and technically engaging environment where engineers work across the full IC development cycle.
The Senior Layout IC Engineer will act as the key link between internal design engineers and external layout partners, managing communication, planning, and delivery of IC layout activities. The role suits someone with a strong background in analog/mixed-signal layout who enjoys coordination and teamwork rather than hands-on layout execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate all layout activities between design teams and external partners
* Plan and monitor timelines, deliverables, and milestones across multiple projects
* Review layout data for accuracy and compliance with design guidelines
* Track progress, resolve communication or technical issues, and ensure DRC/LVS closure
* Manage documentation, version control, and release flow for layout files
* Support project management with layout scheduling and status reporting
* Contribute to improving layout workflows and vendor collaboration
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in IC layout or a related role
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or similar
* Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal IC layout processes and tools
* Experience coordinating or working closely with layout teams
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
