Product Compliance & Certification Manager
Project Duration: 6 months (extension possible)

Remote Share: 3 days onsite/ 2 days remote
Key Responsibilities
* Map and prioritise the full regulatory and certification landscape for a humanoid industrial robot (product safety, functional safety, connectivity, cybersecurity, AI regulation)
* Define and own a certification and compliance roadmap enabling EU market access
* Distinguish mandatory regulatory requirements from commercial accelerators and define sequencing
* Develop and maintain the overall product safety concept
* Perform and maintain structured hazard analysis and risk assessments (e.g. FMEA)
* Ensure compliance with Machinery Directive, EU AI Act (high‑risk), and relevant functional safety standards
* Build, structure, and maintain audit‑ready Technical Files (Technical Construction Files)
* Ensure documentation reflects the actual product design and is continuously updated
* Manage CE marking and other required certifications (e.g. RED, EN 18031)
* Own relationships with notified bodies, testing labs, and regulatory authorities
* Manage certification submissions, feedback loops, and issue resolution
* Act as hands‑on individual contributor (documentation, submissions, coordination)
* Provide clear compliance status updates to engineering, leadership, and commercial teams
* Identify certification risks early and elevate proactively
* Define future compliance processes, tools, and team scaling as the company grows
Mandatory Skills
* Product certification and regulatory compliance in hardware‑intensive industries
* CE marking and Machinery Directive expertise
* Functional safety or product safety compliance experience
* Hazard analysis and risk assessment methods (FMEA, HAZOP, or equivalent)
* Technical File / Technical Construction File creation and maintenance
* Experience working with notified bodies and test laboratories
* Strong project management within regulatory programmes
* Knowledge of RED, EMC/EMV, or EN 18031
* Familiarity with EU AI Act high‑risk requirements
* Experience in robotics, industrial machinery, automotive, or medical devices
* German or another European language
* Prior exposure to cybersecurity or connectivity compliance
