Responsibilities:
Line Management
Direct a team comprising Faculty members and visiting lecturers to oversee the creation, delivery, and updating of specialization courses
Manage recruitment, induction, onboarding, training, classroom observations, timesheets approval, disciplinary actions, talent management appraisal, and temporary faculty replacements
Provide guidance and development support to faculty members in alignment with business needs and internal processes
Teaching and Specialization Leadership
Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses aligned with the academic program within the specialized field
Supervise ABP projects and bachelor theses at both undergraduate and graduate levels
Develop and assess assessments, examinations, assignments, coursework, and projects
Create course content tailored to the required delivery mode
Collaborate with other specialization heads and coordinators to manage the student experience for semester 7 and 8 (BBA) students
Organize student field trips in accordance with the specialization objectives and allocated budget
Applied Research
Lead applied research projects tackling industry challenges and fostering innovation
Publish his/her research and mentor faculty and students in research activities
Develop a strategic research agenda aligned with industry needs and academic goals
Establish partnerships to ensure research relevance and impact
Continuously review and update the research agenda
Course evaluation and specialization review
Explore opportunities for innovation in curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies within the specialization
Implement feedback mechanisms to solicit revision and continuously improve the quality and relevance of specialization courses
Promotion and Outreach
Develop marketing materials and promotional strategies to attract prospective students to the specialization
Represent the specialization at recruitment events, open days, and career fairs
Engage with alumni and industry stakeholders to promote the specialization and enhance its reputation
Industry Collaboration and Partnership Development
Foster and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure the relevance and currency of specialization courses
Collaborate with industry partners to develop internship and placement opportunities for students
Identify and pursue opportunities for joint research projects or consultancy work with industry partners
Continuous Professional Development
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies within the hospitality sector
Encourage and facilitate professional development opportunities for faculty members, such as attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions
Quality Assurance and Accreditation Compliance
Ensure that specialization courses meet accreditation standards and requirements
Collaborate with accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies to maintain and enhance program quality
Conduct periodic reviews and audits of specialization courses to ensure alignment with accreditation standards
Represent the specialization at recruitment events, open days, and career fairs
Participate in committees or working groups focused on enhancing the overall academic experience for students
Student Support and Guidance
Provide academic and career guidance to students pursuing the specialization
Offer mentorship and support to students undertaking research projects or internships within the hospitality industry
Address student concerns and grievances related to the specialization
Participate in student admissions activities
Additional tasks
The Head of Specialization may be called upon to undertake other duties as assigned or as necessary to support the effective functioning of the Academic Pillar and the achievement of academic goals
