Beam Loss Detection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Beam Loss Detection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Accelerator Systems Department, you will be responsible for the development of beam loss detectors for present and future accelerators, with a strong focus on the Future Circular Collider Electron-Positron (FCCee).

Your primary responsibilities will include:

* Collecting and analysing data from various sources to inform the development of beam loss detector specifications;
* Studying the evolution of beam parameters and their impact on beam loss detection technologies;
* Defining the layout of beam loss detectors for FCCee;
* Performing simulations to assess detector response and evaluate different technologies;
* Analysing and interpreting results, summarising findings, and disseminating outcomes through publications and presentations.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in applied physics or engineering, with expertise in data analysis, commissioning, and operation of beam instrumentation and monitoring systems. Your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with your ability to work effectively in teams, will enable you to contribute significantly to our research and development efforts.

Key Requirements:
