This role supports the Finance function in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
* General Ledger Management: Manage Finance & Accounting for the legal entity in Lucerne, Switzerland, and report to Head of Group Finance.
* Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
* Ensure proper coding of all financial transactions according to the chart of accounts and company policies.
* Month-End & Year-End Close: Responsible for period-end closing and reporting in accordance with local GAAP rules, government regulations, and internal/external compliance.
* Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
* Prepare monthly financial report reviews with Group Finance.
* Financial Reporting & Compliance: Coordinate annual statutory audits and other external tax and government audits. Ensure tax compliance and transfer pricing documentation accuracy.
* Monitor cash flow, treasury, tax, and all accounting areas at entity level.
* Prepare entity business plan, quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis. Identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
* Be responsible for budget control.
* Implement local financial processes in line with central guidelines.
* Process Improvement & Collaboration: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and improve efficiency.
* Provide support and guidance to business partners on accounting matters.
* Ensure smooth cooperation with the German branch for financial reporting.
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and authorities as required.
* Identify financial risk and develop mitigation strategies.
* Responsible for training and development of the local finance team members.
* Other finance tasks assigned by Head of Group Finance.
Your profile
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Swiss Federal Diploma of Expertise in Finance and Accounting or equivalent Swiss qualification is highly desirable. International qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) may be considered if supplemented with strong Swiss GAAP knowledge.
Experience
* Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a financial role, preferably within a Swiss corporate environment or multinational corporation with Swiss operations.
* 3+ years’ experience of team leadership in finance / commercial environment.
Technical Skills
* In-depth knowledge of Swiss GAAP (FER and/or OR) and Swiss tax regulations (VAT, WHT).
* Familiar with a major ERP system (SAP FI/CO) is mandatory.
Language Skills
* Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken) required for group reporting and international collaboration.
* Good working proficiency in German would be a plus.
