Overview
Operations & Production Engineer role at RoBoa, Zurich, Switzerland | on-site | starting between October 2025 – January 2026.
We are looking for a hands-on Operations & Production Engineer to join our team and actively contribute to scaling our manufacturing processes and managing our supply chain. We’re a young and dynamic team, and your role will be broad and impactful – from setting up production lines and qualifying suppliers to implementing quality control and managing logistics. You’ll work side by side with the founding team to shape our technology, company, and culture. At RoBoa, you’ll grow with the company and take on real responsibility from day one. You’ll gain deep insights into building robotics systems that solve meaningful challenges in industrial infrastructure. Responsibilities
* Develop, document, and optimize assembly processes for our robotic systems.
* Manage the supply chain, including sourcing components, qualifying new suppliers, and overseeing procurement.
* Implement and oversee quality control measures throughout the production process.
* Create and maintain production documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and work instructions.
* Manage inventory, logistics, and planning for small- to medium-scale production runs.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback for design for manufacturability (DFM).
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience in the robotics, automation, or mechatronics industry.
* Knowledge of quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
* Hands-on technical skills and experience with assembling hardware.
* Experience working in a startup environment.
Nice to have
* Strong motivation and goal-oriented working attitude.
* Comfortable working independently and in small teams, and willing to take responsibility.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations role for complex hardware.
* Experience with supply chain management, sourcing, and supplier interaction.
* A structured and detail-oriented approach to process and documentation.
* Fluent English speaker; German is a strong plus.
