About the role

Institut Le Rosey is a dual-language (English and French) co-educational boarding IB World School for over 400 pupils with a unique two-campus system. To support the development of technology skills and enthusiasm amongst students, we are seeking to appoint a passionate and forward-thinking Technology Coach (100%) for September 2026.


Main responsibilities

The Technology Coach position is designed to provide high-quality, dynamic instruction and coaching to students across various levels, enhancing their technical skills through a blend of practical, investigative, and theoretical methodologies. The TC will exhibit profound knowledge in the subject area, sparking student interest and creativity in both hands-on and academic aspects of technology education.

Planning, delivering, and evaluating technology-related activities, lessons, and projects during academic periods and activity blocks across all our Academic Sections (8 to 18 years old).

Taking on a dynamic role at the intersection of education, technology, engineering, and innovation, guiding students through two prestigious international competitions in biotechnology (iGEM) and mechanical/electrical engineering (Shell Eco Marathon).

Holding office hours to assist students and teachers with technology projects and carry out tasks such as lab and equipment organization, inventory management, preparation for technology projects, report writing, internal grading, and equipment packing during campus transitions.

The role will include some curriculum development, as well as design, delivery, and coordination of innovative cross-curricular projects throughout the year.

In addition, the TC must be actively involved in the promotion of a Technovation mindset both for our staff and our students. They must also liaise with industry and academic professionals to assist with the development of a network that supports the school's technology education goals.

Finally, the professional assuming this role must naturally stand out for their innovative mindset; they should be curious and forward thinking, open to testing new ideas, embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, be flexible and resilient in challenging times.


Requirements

* A minimum of 3-years STEM teaching/coaching experience.
* Confidence with leading advanced STEM Competitions/projects.
* Proficiency with a wide range of school technology equipment (3d printers, laser-cutters, CNC mills, Arduinos, VR and AR, simulations, educational robotics such as LEGO Mindstorms and VEX, CAD).
* Familiarity with a few commonly used programming languages (ex. Python) and the O365 suite.
* The ability to identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be effectively delivered and assessed.
* The ability to design age-appropriate tasks which challenge, engage and motivate students.
* The ability to co-operate with and support staff members to ensure the sharing and effective use of Technology resources to the benefit of the school and its students.
* The ability to think independently, adapt quickly, and manage complex, multidisciplinary projects from conception to execution.
* Strong organization and communication skills
* Deep knowledge of Design Thinking
* A teaching qualification with a degree in Design & Technology would be an asset.
* An engineering background would be a very strong asset.
* Professional working proficiency in English. A working knowledge of French would be useful.
* Le Rosey is a boarding school, and the post will probably be residential. Previous boarding experience will be an advantage.

Changes to Swiss law have made it extremely difficult for international schools like Le Rosey to obtain work permits for non-EU citizens. Founded in 1880, Institut Le Rosey (www.rosey.ch) offers a rounded bilingual education in English and/or French for 440 students aged 8-18, leading to the IB Diploma and French baccalauréat. It also offers a unique two-campus system through its move from a 75-acre château setting by Lake Geneva to the school’s alpine campus every winter term. An IB World School, Le Rosey is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and MSA.

Le Rosey is a highly international community, with well over 60 nationalities in its student body, and over 20 on the teaching staff. The cultural and linguistic diversity of its 440 students is guaranteed by selective admissions with no more than 10% of students from any country. This multinational mix creates a special and very friendly campus atmosphere, as well as enhancing global awareness and international understanding.

In addition to promoting bilingualism and biculturalism, Le Rosey offers a broad academic programme and range of IB and “Pre-Bac” subjects, with an exceptionally strong tradition in foreign languages. Class sizes are small and the main campus in Rolle is particularly well equipped. All students without exception sit the full diploma of the IB or the French “bac”; results are excellent (IB/French bac average of 36+ points), and all students go on to universities in the USA, UK and across the world, with well over 30% to the Ivy League, Ivy league Plus, Oxbridge, and top-ranked universities across the world.


Sports, Arts, Tech and Expeditions

Le Rosey is committed to holistic educational principles. An exceptionally varied, sports, arts, tech, expeditions and cultural programme takes full advantage of facilities which include riding stables, a sailing centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a fitness and “wellness” centre. There is also a strong winter sports tradition and a comprehensive technology activities and academic programme. The school boasts an exceptional state-of-the-art Arts and Learning Centre and 900-seat concert hall (www.roseyconcerthall.ch) on its Rolle campus.
