For a large Swiss energy client in Olten/Lausanne, we are seeking a highly motivated professional for the following challenge:
Business Analyst ITSM – External 100% - 7674
Trading IT supports Energy Trading Business with implementation and management of their systems.
In this role, you will report to the Head of Trading IT. Your primary responsibilities will include articulating business ideas, suggestions, and problems in technology terms, developing technical concepts and solutions to business problems, and managing requirements at both demand and project levels.
Working Location: Mainly remote with a once-per-week travel to Olten
Main Responsibilities:
* Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications.
* Ensure that the identified requirements are mapped and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
* Facilitate communication between the IT team and business stakeholders, ensuring that the needs and constraints of both entities are respected and considered.
* Manage expectations and ensure that project stakeholders are well-informed about project statuses, issues, and proposed solutions.
* Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement or optimization.
* Develop and propose process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and functionality.
* Validate that system functionalities meet defined requirements through user acceptance testing (UAT).
* Ensure data quality and integrity across systems and reports.
* Ensure that IT projects and systems are in compliance with relevant regulatory standards and company policies.
* Develop and deliver training to end-users on new systems, features, and processes.
* Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting, acting as a liaison between users and technical teams.
* Continually optimize trading systems and platforms to ensure they are efficient, reliable, and support business objectives.
* Ensure IT projects are successfully delivered, providing the expected benefits and value to the business.
* Guarantee that all systems and processes adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
* Streamline and enhance business processes to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Foster a high level of user adoption and satisfaction by ensuring that systems and processes are user-friendly and meet business needs.
* Establish and nurture positive relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
* To liaise with project and development teams to suggest a high-level functional solution by acting as an SME on a business requirements specification or a solution with the development team during design, build, and test phases.
* Adhere to the Trading IT Information Security Management System in your area of responsibility.
Your Profile:
* +8 years of relevant experience in Energy and Finance.
* Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in project or product management and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
* Extensive knowledge and experience in the energy trading sector, understanding key trading principles, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
* Familiarity with various energy commodities (e.g., oil, gas, electricity) and their respective trading mechanisms.
* Knowledge of data analysis tools and languages.
* Experience with trading platforms, ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) systems, and other related IT applications.
* Ability to understand and translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
* Good communication and inter-personal skills, team and goal-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
* Fluent in English; competency in German and French is advantageous.
* Start Date: As soon as possible.
* End: 30.04.2026 – could be renewed till end December 2026.
