The Indirect Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing and submitting all VAT and Intrastat returns across EMEA. This includes ensuring timely filing, proactive coordination with management and tax authorities, and submission of VAT returns (where a fiscal representative does not handle submission directly). The role also entails reconciling balance sheet accounts related to VAT returns. Additionally, close collaboration with the tax team at headquarters is essential for addressing daily queries.
What You'll Do :
* Prepare and file VAT / Intrastat returns of EMEA and other markets where the business operates.
* Work with external tax representatives in appointed jurisdiction.
* Work with the 3PL tax representative in the Netherlands and overview the preparation of the VAT Return in NL.
* Accountable for all month end VAT processes and TB reconciliations executed in a timely manner.
* Ensure compliance with VAT legislation in different jurisdictions and reduce the risk of any potential non-compliant VAT issues.
* Reconcile the monthly indirect tax provision for various entities.
* Maintain an organized standard filing system of all reviewed VAT return submissions and official communications from the various VAT authorities in Europe.
* Liaise with the various VAT authorities on routine inquiries.
* Prepare all necessary documents and assist in the completion of any VAT audits.
* Support in responding to specific VAT queries within the company internally.
* Investigate specific cases to ensure legally correct VAT treatment.
* Assist in completing UAT in system customizations.
* Keep a general overview and research VAT developments and changes in Europe, identifying any potential risks.
* Work closely with the tax team in North America in assisting their day-to-day queries.
Let's Talk About You :
* Professional Accounting and/or Tax Designation, chartered certified Accountant - advantage.
* 2-3 years’ experience in indirect tax and accounting.
* VAT compliance knowledge and experience in at least one of the following EU jurisdictions – Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, UK, Switzerland is an asset.
* Experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Must have mid-large ERP system experience – Microsoft Dynamics AX / NAV or D365.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Detail-oriented and results-driven.
* Ability to develop and maintain courteous and collaborative working relationships with customers, both internally and externally.
