About the Role
The Head Center of Excellence, Procurement & Supply Chain is a strategic leadership position within Group PSC, responsible for driving the optimization of procurement and supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and superior service delivery. This role encompasses strategic planning, policy development, supplier relationship management, and the execution of continuous improvement initiatives across the global supply chain. The position leads three critical focus areas: Analytics & KPIs, ESG & Compliance, and Process, Systems & Methodology. Operating at a global level, the role serves as a central resource and enabler for procurement and supply chain excellence across all gategroup business units.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Driving of the Center of Excellence (CoE):
Lead the creation and formalization of the Procurement & Supply Chain Excellence department. Build, develop, and manage a high-performing team to support global initiatives.
Process Optimization:
Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, including contract management, supplier performance tracking, and performance measurement systems.
Digital & System Transformation:
Oversee the management and evolution of procurement systems, including e-Procurement tools, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and platform selection. Develop and lead the digital transformation roadmap, acting as a key driver of the function’s modernization.
Sourcing Excellence:
Support the creation and implementation of category strategies. Promote the use of advanced negotiation techniques and strengthen supplier relationship management practices across the organization.
Data & Analytics:
Develop robust data governance and analytics frameworks to increase transparency and insight.
For Procurement: Enable the use of spend, supplier, and market analytics, including cost modelling, to support informed strategic decisions.
For Supply Chain: Facilitate the implementation of forecasting and reporting tools to optimize demand planning, inventory control, and logistics performance. Drive real-time data usage and AI-based solutions to improve agility and network optimization.
Training & Enablement:
Provide functional training and system support for users. Act as a gatekeeper for cross-functional collaboration and capability development across business units.
ESG & Compliance:
Ensure Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards are fully integrated into procurement and supply chain practices. Support enterprise risk management and define system usage rules, guidelines, and compliance frameworks.
Core Competencies & Requirements
Education
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
Work Experience
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
3. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
4. Experience with digital procurement tools, RPA, and analytics platforms
5. Experience in managing large-scale procurement projects transformation
6. Change Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Track record of successfully leading transformation initiatives and embedding a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
Technical / Language Skills
7. Strong knowledge of procurement process design, contract management, and supplier performance tracking.
8. Proficient in procurement and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
9. Demonstrated ability to support negotiation activities, including preparation and strategy development, without necessarily owning or signing contracts.
10. Fluency in English. Another European language such as German, French or Spanish is a plus
