On behalf of our client, an innovative company in the life sciences sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated accountant to join their Finance team and support their operations with accounting, controlling, and administrative expertise.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with Swiss legal standards and company policies. This includes managing the general ledger and overseeing sub-ledgers such as accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, leasing, accruals, and deferrals.
Execute timely period-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Support projects aimed at optimizing financial processes to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
Handle quarterly VAT reporting and conduct VAT reconciliations on a quarterly and annual basis.
Assist with the preparation and review of semi-annual and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and the Swiss Code of Obligations.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's internal control system.
Participate in ERP system implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Assist with controlling tasks such as preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
Perform various administrative duties to support the Finance team.
Profile
Certified Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar position; experience in the life sciences sector is advantageous.
Solid understanding of Swiss VAT regulations, familiarity with international VAT rules is a plus.
Strong knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations and practical experience with IFRS.
Meticulous and quality-conscious work ethic, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, along with hands-on ERP experience.
Excellent communication skills in both German and English (written and spoken), knowledge of French is a plus.
