Trade Finance Associate (3-6 PQE)

Position Overview:
A prominent international law firm is actively seeking a Trade Finance Associate with 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience to join their esteemed Geneva office. This position will focus on commodities trade finance, providing an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to work within a dynamic and globally recognized team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on a broad spectrum of trade finance transactions, including pre-export and post-export financing, structured trade finance, and commodity trading agreements.
- Draft, negotiate, and review legal documentation related to trade finance deals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Assist clients in navigating the complexities of legal and regulatory frameworks governing international trade and finance.
- Collaborate with cross-border teams to provide integrated legal solutions tailored to client needs.
- Conduct legal research and offer strategic insights on emerging trends in trade finance and commodities law.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues throughout the firm.
- Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership efforts in the area of trade finance.
**Qualifications:
- Candidates must be qualified solicitors in the UK or commonwealth jurisdiction with a minimum of 3 years and up to 6 years of post-qualification experience in trade finance or related fields.
- A strong understanding of commodities trading and finance, including familiarity with financial instruments, risk management, and relevant regulatory issues, is essential.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, complemented by a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset for providing innovative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a client-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French or other languages is an advantage.
