remote) Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to take ownership of firmware
development and maintenance across the QronoX platform and a broad portfolio of
legacy Saia Burgess Controls products. This role requires deep technical
expertise in embedded systems, the ability to work autonomously on complex
topics, and strong systems-thinking across hardware, firmware, and product
interactions. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and enhance firmware for QronoX automation controllers. * Own sustaining engineering and bug fixing activities for legacy SBC products. * Perform deep root-cause analysis across multi-module, real-time embedded systems. * Understand and manage interactions between firmware components, hardware modules, and system-level behavior. * Work closely with hardware, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams. * Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and testability. Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. * 7+ years of experience in embedded firmware development. * Strong proficiency in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems. * Experience debugging complex systems with limited external support. * Strong self-organization and ownership mindset. Workplace Model This position follows Honeywell’s fixed hybrid model of 3 days on-site and 2
days remote per week. Givisiez is the primary R&D center for the Saia Burgess
Controls brand and hosts the embedded engineering teams, hardware labs, and core
QronoX and legacy product test environments. Regular on-site presence in
Givisiez enables close collaboration with the core engineering team and access
to laboratory infrastructure required for deep firmware and hardware debugging.
