Position Responsibilities and Functions
* Create, update, and manage tickets in the Client Merck tool following appropriate procedural documentation.
* System of truth would be Client Merck tool (Service-now).
* Escorting break-fix partner/Vendor up to device, in Business hours which are either PRE-SCHEDULED or PLANNED activities.
* Escorting break-fix partner/Vendor up to device, out of core business hours for either UNPLANNED, PRESCHEDULED or PLANNED activities
* Non-technical module/device replacement/addition (hot swappable) for supported equipment's in coordination with Customer offshore team.
* Troubleshoot (physical)/identify LAN access media (fiber or Ethernet) related issues resulting in device un-reachability for IN-SCOPE sites with advice from offshore team.
* Physical reboot of in scope devices based on Customer SME instruction (if required).
* Replacement or troubleshooting from the Patch panel (cable termination unit) to the connected device ( Switch/Router/Server, etc.) via offshore team instructions
* Replacement or troubleshooting fiber - Patch cord/SFP from FTU (Fiber Termination Unit) to network device in scope ( Switch / Router / Server) via offshore team instructions
* Coordination with the vendor in any movement of Racks /devices within the data center.
* Proper cable tagging is done in case of any changes made in existing infrastructure.
* Provide the reports of physical status ( LED check to the Customer Offshore team
* Physically monitor the network device for preventive and corrective maintenance as per offshore team's guidance
* Troubleshoot the issues requiring physical access to the device as per Customer offshore team's guidance.
* Install/replace network/fiber patch cables/SFP as necessary for equipment installations as per offshore team instructions.
* Manage delivered Service Provider equipment into, and decommissioned equipment out of, storage facilities.
* Work with designated salvage contractors to arrange and manage disposal of equipment in line with CUSTOMER standards.
* Maintain a floor map of server locations in the server room, and rack diagrams of server locations in all the sites
* Coordinate the flow of equipment into and out of storage facilities for other activities, such as video-conferencing equipment, telephones, network equipment, PCs and laptops.
* Manage delivered Service Provider equipment into, and decommissioned equipment out of, storage facilities.
* Moving equipment, Unwrap/ Unbox Hardware and dispose of waste material properly.
* Basic Configuration to bring up the devices.
* Complex cable configurations & Power cycle
* Placement device management, Inventory & detect and respond to threats.
* Test devices and fix errors.
* Rack and stacking services.
* Work in co-coordination with OEM engineers to provide support at the time of Break Fix
* Need to share all required information of the devices (at the time of break fix, replacement, assessment) with site and onsite engineers.
* Wireless Controller and Access Point replacement, Breakfix and installation support.
Must have Requirements:
* Valid work permit in Switzerland
