*Job Description**
Are you familiar with electromagnetism, electrical engineering and vacuum equipment, and ready for a next-level challenge? Could contributing to the world's largest machine ignite your passion? If so, it's time to step into the cutting-edge world of pulsed magnets at CERN! In the Systems Department (SY), the Accelerator Beam Transfer Group (ABT) is in charge of the design, development, construction and exploitation of beam transfer related equipment.
*Your responsibilities** Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on the development, installation and commissioning of fast-pulsed systems. Contribute to ongoing R&D efforts, including optical fiber sensors, coating technologies and related innovations. Conduct numerical simulations (e.g PSpice, electromagnetic and thermal analyses). Prepare test setups and perform electrical and RF measurements. Participate in partial discharge testing. Develop, maintain scripts for post-processing analysis and work with the team to identify opportunities for automation. Document simulation and experimental results and contribute to the publication of scientific findings. *Your profile** Background in electrical engineering or similar. Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools and analogue circuit simulations (e.g. Comsol, CST, Spice). Experience with electrical measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, LCR meter, VNA).
Skills
Skilled in using programming and software tools to process, analyse and visualise complex datasets. Ability to document simulation and test results accurately. Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment. Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
