PpbANAVIA /b, a Swiss high-tech multinational, specialises in the design, development and manufacture of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) systems of up to 750 kilograms. We offer industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems for a variety of missions and applications. /p pbWe are growing our team! /b /p pWe are seeking a bUAV Airworthiness and Certification Expert /b to support the development and continuous improvement of internal processes and manuals, ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements and enable certification and operational approvals for UAV systems. /p h3Key Tasks /h3 ul liLead and coordinate operational approval and certification activities for UAV platforms, ensuring compliance with FOCA, EASA, and national UAS regulations /li liDevelop, manage, and maintain approval plans, including preparation and submission of required documentation to regulatory authorities /li liSupport cross-functional teams in ensuring approval compliance from concept to operation /li liConduct and support system safety assessments, hazard analyses, and risk evaluations per industry standards /li liOversee and participate in pre-flight and flight-test programs to validate compliance /li liStay current with evolving UAS regulations and standards; provide expert guidance and training to internal teams /li liAct as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and notified entities /li liLead or support investigations related to airworthiness or regulatory compliance /li liWorking independently and responsibly. Perform tasks as described above /li liCompliance according to ANAVIA’s employment contract, compliance with company’s safety instructions and employee’s safety requirements, compliance with employers’ quality manual, work instructions and corresponding process specifications and instructions /li liInternational travel requires up to 25% of employee’s working hours /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field /li liExperience or strong academic/project background in operational authorization, certification, or safety for UAVs or manned aircrafts. Strong understanding of EASA UAS regulations /li liExperience with certification plans, compliance matrices, and operational approvals /li liProven knowledge of risk assessment methodologies such as SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) /li liFamiliarity with safety and design assurance standards (ARP4754, DO-178C, DO-254, ISO 9001, ISO 21384) /li liStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail in documentation /li liSkills: Excellent knowledge of UAV systems, avionics, propulsion, and control systems /li liStrong communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with regulators and cross-functional teams /li liProactive, self‑motivated, and able to lead or independently manage certification activities. High integrity and safety mindset. Skilled at assessing risks and making sound technical decisions. Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers in airworthiness and certification processes. Strong documentation, reporting, and regulatory submission skills. /li liGood language skills in English (oral and written).
