We are looking for a new Legal Counsel!
What you will do:
As a Legal Counsel, you will be part of T&S Global Legal Team. You will report to the VP Legal and advise traders, management, operators, and support office functions. You will serve as a legal advisor on third-party negotiation teams on various transactions (commercial/finance/operations, etc.).
Your main responsibilities will include:
Providing legal services and advice on issues related primarily to TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping activities worldwide, including corporate aspects (governance, company management, procurement).
Offering legal support on other areas of TOTSA business, such as IT, labor, insurance, financing, corporate structuring, and evolving key business areas, including innovative aspects.
Supporting other Total Group entities as needed.
Drafting and advising on all agreements and related documentation.
Advising on legal risks and strategies to minimize or mitigate their impact.
Managing legal disputes and advising on risks and outcomes.
Monitoring and advising on applicable laws in relevant jurisdictions.
Understanding the business, including commercial and technical issues affecting legal services.
Participating in legal and industry working groups to assess industry changes when necessary.
Instructing external counsel and actively working to minimize external legal costs.
Profil du candidat
At least 5 years of post-qualification experience as a solicitor/attorney, preferably in a Common Law jurisdiction and/or as in-house counsel.
Previous experience in commercial law and/or energy and/or trading is mandatory.
Experience in international litigation or arbitration is a plus.
Proficient in English legal drafting (speaking, reading, and writing).
Effective communication skills with all management levels.
Legal training in another European jurisdiction is advantageous.
Knowledge of French and/or another major European language is an advantage.
