Public Engagement & Health Network Officer
Médecins Sans Frontières Suisse (GE HQ) – 1 Position open from 01‑04‑2026 – Full‑time, Permanent – Location: Geneva, Switzerland.
Overview
The Public Engagement & Health Network Officer builds and manages strategic partnerships and event coordination to strengthen MSF’s visibility and impact in the German‑speaking part of Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate MSF participation in major public events (film festivals, photo exhibitions, conventions) and organise film screenings to raise awareness.
* Support and develop youth and student activities (Mapathons, school and university projects).
* Assist in cross‑sector special events (conferences, regional initiatives).
* Conceptualise and develop innovative event formats aligned with MSF’s strategic goals.
* Build and maintain internal and external networks to strengthen collaboration and unlock new opportunities.
* Network & strategic partnership development – analyse stakeholders, strengthen MSF’s network in Swiss health sector, particularly in German‑speaking Switzerland; maintain relationships with hospitals, universities, professional associations and public health institutions.
* Identify cooperation opportunities and develop targeted engagement strategies for health professionals.
* Participate in professional forums, conferences and health events to strengthen MSF’s reputation.
* Internal & external collaboration – work closely with the Head of Office Zürich and teams from communication, fundraising, HR and medicine to align messages and activities; strengthen youth and student engagement to build a sustainable volunteer pool.
* Collaborate with media and digital communication teams to ensure cohesive public presence and represent MSF authentically and inspire audiences.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in event management, communication, health management, public health or social sciences.
* Proven experience in event coordination, network building or partnership management, ideally in humanitarian, cultural or health settings.
* Good knowledge of MSF or comparable humanitarian organisations is an advantage.
* Experience or insight into the health sector of the German‑speaking part of Switzerland is a plus.
* Excellent project‑management and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in parallel.
* Professional and authentic public appearance and networking experience.
* Strong social and intercultural competence; clear commitment to diversity, inclusion and non‑discrimination.
* Reliable, dynamic personality with sensitivity to complex or confidential topics; willingness to travel regularly within Switzerland.
* Languages: Very good written and oral German and English; basic written and oral French is a plus.

* Location: Zürich – ideal start date: 1 April 2026.
