Civil Infrastructure Engineer

THE ROLE

The Civil Infrastructure Engineer will support the management of civil infrastructure projects for new and existing container yards, logistics terminals, and cold store facilities. The role involves leading feasibility studies, design coordination, procurement, and construction activities under the guidance of the Civil Infrastructure Manager. The engineer will work as part of a team of three engineers, collaborating closely to ensure successful project delivery.


YOUR IMPACT

For existing entities, provide assistance to the local Management teams and review/validate any infrastructure related capex and maintenance costs, as well as ensuring their proper implementation and monitoring.

* Concept design and early activities – ensure the hiring and management of consultants to conduct necessary design studies and investigations, identify permitting requirements and necessary administrative approvals, define scope, budget, and project.
* Timeline and risks – propose best procurement strategy, run tender processes and compare alternatives, whilst considering operational inputs and needs as well as equipment requirements.
* Implementation & Construction stage – establish and manage a project management team (through 3rd party consultants or direct local hire), implement proper governance & reporting to accurately monitor progress, cost, quality and safety, administer contracts until final completion and handover to Operations.
* For acquisition of new or existing facilities, conduct necessary technical due diligence and assist Business.
* Development to evaluate investment opportunities, address operational needs, identify risks, define timeline, estimate refurbishment/expansion capex and inputs to be considered in the Business Plan to ultimately maximize business profitability.


YOUR BACKGROUND

* Master’s degree in civil engineering with at least 6+ years’ experience in major international infrastructure projects, covering several construction phases from acquisition to delivery (feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning).
* Relevant experience in design offices or contractor roles, with industry knowledge and exposure to EPC project management.
* Technical expertise in civil works (earthworks, heavy‑duty pavement, rail, quay wall, road, buildings, etc.) and solid notions of associated utilities (electrical, water, drainage…). Additional knowledge related to logistics warehouse and cold store is a plus.
* Ability to use AutoCAD independently for concept drawings.
* Solid project management skills, including project control and coordination of different work streams (not necessarily all technical).
* Base knowledge in Contract Management (claims, variations, disputes, etc.), as well as notions of legal framework of agreements (Consultancy, Construction, Lease, Partnership, etc.).
* Strong team player, with a collaborative and co‑operative approach with internal functions and external stakeholders.
* Good communicator and tactful negotiator able to work in a multi‑cultural environment.
* Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in both written and spoken English, with strong expertise in concise and effective written and presentation skills.
* Available for frequent travel (up to 25%), particularly for new acquisitions and ongoing projects follow‑up.
* Perfect command of English, written and spoken. At least one additional language aplus (French, Spanish).

* Based in Geneva.
* Full Time.

* EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit is required.
