In this position, you will contribute to the next generation of Process Automation devices, which are central to the GF Piping Systems Process Automation Strategy 2025. As an Embedded Software Development Engineer focusing on Fieldbus Technologies, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of high quality. Your expertise in this area will significantly impact the success of GF's Process Automation product portfolio.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Developing embedded software for sensors and actuators in the Process Industry.
2. Integrating fieldbus protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus/TCP.
3. Conducting integration tests and managing device approvals.
4. Collaborating with hardware and software engineers both in-house and abroad, as well as with external service providers.
5. Ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of projects.
6. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
7. Supporting lifecycle management of existing fieldbus-based products.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in developing embedded software in an industrial setting.
* Experience with digital connectivity protocols like Profinet, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus/TCP.
* Proficiency in modern C (C11 and higher), ARM Cortex MCUs, and embedded OS.
* Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity standards like IEC62443-4 is a plus.
* Proficiency in English.
* Valid work permit for Switzerland or EU citizenship.
