In this position, you will contribute to the next generation of Process Automation devices, which are key to realizing the GF Piping Systems Process Automation Strategy 2025. As an Embedded Software Development Engineer focusing on Fieldbus Technologies, you will play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of high quality. Your expertise will significantly impact the success of the GF Process Automation product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop embedded software for sensors and actuators for the Process Industry.
2. Integrate fieldbus protocols, e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus/TCP.
3. Conduct integration tests and manage device approval processes.
4. Collaborate with hardware and software engineers both in-house and abroad, as well as external service providers.
5. Ensure quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of projects.
6. Stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
7. Support lifecycle management of existing fieldbus-based products.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in developing embedded software in an industrial environment.
* Experience with digital connectivity protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, IO-Link.
* Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 and higher), ARM Cortex MCUs, and embedded OS.
* Experience with Scrum or similar agile methodologies.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity standards like IEC62443-4 is a plus.
* Proficient in English.
* Valid work permit for Switzerland or EU citizenship.
