Your position
1. We are looking for a scholar to represent the entire field of Egyptology across teaching and research.
2. The successful candidate will teach Egyptology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level (BA, MA, PhD) and will contribute to the development of the integrated degree programme of the Department of Ancient Civilizations as well as to interdisciplinary cooperations, both in teaching and research, with other disciplines at the Department.
3. They will coordinate the course curriculum in Egyptology with the other Professorships in the Department of Ancient Civilizations as well as the Professorship for Integrative Prehistory and Archaeological Science (Integrative Prähistorische und Naturwissenschaftliche Archäologie, IPNA) in the Department of Environmental Sciences.

4. Applicants must have an excellent doctorate and an excellent record in research and publications, according to their academic age.
5. The focus of their research should be compatible with the research profile of the Department of Ancient Civilizations.
6. They are expected to have teaching experience and to be keen to teach undergraduate and doctoral students in innovative and practice-oriented formats, including with the use of digital tools.
7. They will have a track record in securing third-party funding.
8. The ability to work in a team and a willingness to contribute to university self-governance are essential.
