This Position reports to:

Contract & Claims Manager

As a Contract & Claims Manager, you will, together with a team of experienced and motivated professionals, be handling project contracts within the Process Automation, Process Industries Division. In this position you will provide contract management services with varying complexity, throughout the project lifecycle. You will support in minimizing risk exposure and protect ABB’s contractual interests, ensuring all contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant corporate/division/business policies and procedures, as well as the Contract Management Policy and Contract Management Framework. You will work with domestic and international customers and suppliers. We offer you a dynamic and high-speed work environment, working in close collaboration with our sales, operations, procurement teams and functions (Legal and Integrity, Trade Compliance, HSE, Sustainability, and other Subject Matter Experts) in Switzerland and abroad. In this role you will report to the Head of Controlling & Contract Management. The position is based in Baden, Switzerland.

The work model for the role is:

This role is contributing to the Process Industries Division. Main stakeholders are Sales, Operations, Procurement, Legal and Integrity, Trade Compliance, HSE and Sustainability.

You will be mainly accountable for:


* You support in due diligence and preparation of considerations for bid go/no-go decisions based on risk assessment of contracting environment and facilitate liaison with involved stakeholders as required.
* You review and comment on tender terms and conditions including relevant schedules and annexes.
* You participate in the development of the contract negotiation strategy and supports contract negotiations in line with Contract Management Policy, within the portfolio of contracts assigned for contract management support.
* You coordinate drafting of purchase orders, contracts, and subcontracts within the portfolio of contracts assigned for contract management support, ensuring that relevant (sub) contracts contain appropriate contract terms to protect ABB’s interest, including the flow-down of main contract terms.


Qualifications For The Role (Mandatory)

* We are looking for a Contract & Claims Manager with a team-based and solution-oriented working style, as well as strong written and verbal communicative skills.
* While you have superior attention to detail, structure and organizational skills, you are also able take a risk-based approach.
* You support the projects independently but at the same time know when to seek support and advice.
* You have a business, commercially driven, pragmatic mindset and you understand that good results are achieved in collaboration with the legal and integrity community, management, sales, operation and procurement teams and internal subject matter experts.
* The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Law or an equivalent, plus a minimum of 10 years’ experience in international contract management in the field of product, systems or service delivery for industrial customers or suppliers.
* Excellent oral and written English is required. Other languages such as Spanish or French are a plus.
