Your role and responsibilities
In this role within the Customer Project Execution Team, you will conduct customer witnessed testing and verification activities for assignments of medium/high testing complexity of systems,
subsystems, or products effectively and cost-efficiently and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.
The work model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification, Smart Power, Critical Power and Customer Projects Execution team in Quartino, Switzerland.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* End-to-End Testing Accountability: Plan, prepare, and execute customer-witnessed type tests, including full documentation, while ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Technical Expertise & Support: Provide technical support during installation and testing, perform first-level troubleshooting, and collaborate closely with Project Management and Sales to ensure successful validation and delivery.
* Leadership & Collaboration: Guide and support test engineers, promote best practices across projects, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure testing readiness and quality.
* Process, Risk & Quality Management: Apply and continuously improve standardized processes and tools, conduct risk assessments to ensure safe operations, and proactively identify and report improvement opportunities.
Qualifications for the role
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and validation of products within the electromechanical field. Experience with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems is considered a strong advantage.
* Strong passion for technical excellence, with the ability and willingness to share knowledge and best practices across teams and projects.
* Native Italian speaker with strong English (B1) communication skills; able to interact confidently and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders in an international environment.
* Positive, collaborative, and proactive approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to team performance and engagement.
