Job Responsibilities
1. Operate, maintain, and develop the IPX transport services and systems of Comfone.
2. Implement and manage IP transport access links to Comfone IPX, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to customers and peers.
3. Improve the IP access infrastructure supporting IPX services to ensure reliable performance and scalability.
4. Proactively monitor the IP access network and manage capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues.
5. Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
6. Provide 2nd-level on-call support to internal and external parties.
Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a related field, with a strong understanding of IP networks and protocols.
* Experience working with Cisco / Arista routers and switches, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
* Deep knowledge of IP networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, QoS, and DNS; familiarity with network security principles.
* At least 5 years of professional experience operating carrier-grade IP networks.
* Knowledge of LTE / GSM mobile network technologies and the roaming industry is a plus.
* Dynamic, communicative, customer-focused, with a commitment to high-quality, reliable service.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
* Willing to work in Bern, Switzerland.
