As Business Risk & Compliance Manager, you are responsible to lead and develop a proactive and comprehensive agenda of a healthy working environment, mitigating risks and ensuring that all functions identify, assess and proactively handle those risks. In this role, you will ensure that risks are handled, and IKEA co-workers, visitors, external partners, customers and assets are protected from preventable loss, injury or illness, and contribute to the positive working environment for all.

• You have extensive experience in the security environment.
• You know and understand the relevant local and national laws and legislations connected to risk management, health, safety and security, and are very familiar with crisis and risk management.
• You know and understand relevant risk & compliance, health, safety and security steering documents and working methods within Ingka Group
• You have experience in advising line managers and supervisors, can communicate confidently and clearly.
• You have the motivation to create a compliant, healthy, safe and secure place to work.
• You are characterized by a high level of commitment, independence and a sense of responsibility.
• You don't lose your cool even in stressful situations and have strong analytical and numerical skills.
• You are a strong communicator and speak and write in German and English fluently.

It is important that you are flexible in terms of working hours. Early or late shifts within our opening hours and Saturday assignments will be part of your working schedule.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Ensure safety and security for co-workers, customers, suppliers, and assets, through training, audits, inspections and follow up.
• Promote a risk-aware culture and support business growth, including analysis of incidents and trends, investigating the causes of these trends reporting them to management.
• Implement and drive health, safety, and security frameworks and trainings for co-workers, ensuring compliance with internal requirements and external regulations (national and local legislation).
• Coordinate Crisis Management Team activities and internal controls according to the IKEA Emergency Response rules.
• Maintain functional safety systems and handle incidents effectively, ensuring compliance with IKEA standards and national/local legal requirements.
• Work closely with the Management Team on sensitive matters such as harassment, misconduct, information security, and legal issues.
• Support unit profitability by managing insurance claims, reducing fraud, and safeguarding assets.
• Serve as the main contact for Risk & Compliance with authorities and public security.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Hires, onboards and trains the co-workers. Directs the overall selection, onboarding, development of coworkers. Creates individual development plans to secure succession. Manages resource planning, co-worker relations issues and performance and delegates responsibilities. Ensures we have a highly competent and performing team capable of delivering and excellent customer shopping experience. Oversees the day-to-day performance of the Risk & Compliance team.
* Executes various compliance tasks including assessments, follow-up, training, and statistical reports related to Ingka Group Policies and Standards, U.S. Business Risk & Compliance policies, and national/local applicable laws and regulatory requirements including but not limited to: Global Safety & Security Manual, U.S. Retail Risk & Compliance Operations Manual, Crisis Manual, fire safety (NFPA), occupational safety (OSHA/NIOSH), food safety (Food Safety Modernization Act), Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standards, data privacy and information security, Product Safety (CPSC), Worker's Compensation, General Liability.
* Oversees the safety and security of people and property within the site/unit and supports the unit Manager with identifying, managing, and mitigating risks in the unit, and gathering and communicating unit safety and security KPI's
* Establishes and updates various business plans and action plans including but not limited to: Safety Action Plan, Business Plan, SecCheck Action Plan, and IKEA Blue Action Plan.
* Initiates, monitors, and responds to internal and external incidents and ensures rapid response, investigation, and documentation and reporting of all incidents and emergency situations. Ensures thorough documentation of all incidents that relate to potential liability for IKEA, educates the location R&C team on appropriate language for incident reports, and reviews incident reports for quality and accuracy.
* Serves as the subject matter expert for the location's liability claims and is the point of contact for insurance related matters, which includes ensuring property preservation, and potential or existing insurance claims.
* Minimizes theft and fraud, provides support to the Field Safety & Security Specialist with internal investigations with accuracy, security and confidentiality.
* Leads the unit's physical security program and safety program by education, assessing (auditing) and maintaining standards throughout the property. Works closely with outside agencies (police, fire department, fraud agencies, insurance companies, attorneys, OSHA, Health Department) as required to ensure compliance with all local and national laws regarding safety and security. Works with outside safety and security vendors as needed under scope of existing contracts.
* Works in partnership with the Unit Management and/or Field Safety & Security regarding sensitive issues, including but not limited to harassment, Co-worker misconduct, information security incidents, and lawsuits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
