Digital Design Process Engineer (m/f/d)
Job description
Role purpose:
This role focuses on enhancing Capital Project Front End Loading by integrating novel technologies from other industries and process simulations to improve option quality, cost prediction, delivery timelines, and technical solution efficiency. The position involves building and governing a capability framework for Syngenta - including training pathways - while providing scientific leadership in a strategically important area and championing the scientific ladder. A key deliverable is the development of scalable, low-cost digital twin processes leveraging expertise in Process Engineering design, 3D modelling, photogrammetry, and Building Information Modelling.
Accountabilities:
Identifying critical projects with site teams (PT & AI Production) to introduce new technologies for Project front end loading.
Building the tools and ensuring that the team has the necessary licenses, skills and other resources available.
Applying tools to real projects and demonstrating benefit.
Establishing digital tools as standard tools and developing trainings needed to implement them into Business.
Collaborating closely with the Engineering Organization on development of low cost digital twins during Front End Engineer & Design.
Guiding the organization as a whole on training and rolling out of the processes.
Required profile
Qualifications
PhD in Chemistry or Chemical/Process Engineering (or equivalent)
Extensive background in Chemical Manufacturing, Process Development, Project Management; cross-industrial experience and cross-cultural/academic collaboration
Expert knowledge in chemical process development, modelling, 3D modelling (open-source), photogrammetry, and Capital Project Frameworks
Proven ability to develop innovative products/solutions, challenge the status quo, and
