Are you passionate about Full-Stack Web Development? Do you like working with state-of-the-art software technologies in a containerised software environment? Join the Tools Team within the Converter Controls Software (CCS) Section at CERN!
The SY-EPC-CCS Section within the Electrical Power Converters (SY-EPC) Group is responsible for the development and operation of software used to control power converters that drive current in the magnets of CERN's accelerators. In total, the group manages more than 5000 power converters.
As part of the Tools Team at SY-EPC-CCS, you'll be responsible for a set of crucial web tools.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Working on front-ends in JavaScript (Vue3.js);
* Working on back-ends in Python (FastAPI);
* Managing databases in SQL (PostgreSQL);
* Contributing to the team's containerisation setup and workflow (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm);
* Gathering and refining requirements and features with users and stakeholders (Power Converter Experts);
* Providing support to the users (experts);
* Collaborating closely within a Scrum team of full-stack developers;
* This role includes team supervision responsibilities.

Your profile
Skills required:
* Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js);
* Experience with UI/UX design and development;
* Experience with Python (FastAPI);
* Experience with SQL;
* Experience in gathering user requirements;
* Knowledge of or experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes) is advantageous;
* Proficiency in spoken and written English, with a willingness to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* You have a background in Computer Science (or a related field) with either:
o a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
o or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
* You have not previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.
