Your challenge
* Independently lead and conduct research projects in shoulder and elbow surgery
* Design and implement studies, manage data collection and analysis, and ensure data quality
* Perform advanced statistical analyses and contribute to machine learning-based modelling
* Write and publish high-quality scientific papers; present at national and international conferences
* Participate in grant writing
* Collaborate closely with clinicians and external partners
* Supervise students, research assistants, and study assistants
* Contribute to the strategic development of the research group
What impresses us
* PhD in a relevant biomedical field (e.g., clinical research, health science, epidemiology)
* Significant record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific productivity and impact.
* Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of statistical methodology, ideally with experience managing large datasets
* Experience with R, Stata or similar analytical software; machine learning experience is a plus
* Excellent knowledge of the clinical research process from planning through to publication
* Familiarity with orthopaedic research; direct experience in upper extremity outcomes research is an advantage
* Excellent English (spoken and written, especially scientific/medical English); German comprehension or willingness to learn
* Well-developed communication and organisational skills; ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Passionate about research, with integrity and the ability to work under pressure
