The Forum’s Equitable Transition Initiative aims to identify long-term, sustainable pathways to enable a just and equitable green transition, working closely with partners from the private and the public sector. It aims to put people at the centre of a low-carbon future. The initiative is supported by the Laudes Foundation.
We are recruiting a Lead role to contribute to insights and action initiatives, including new and existing initiatives and workstreams related to the Forum’s Equitable Transition work.
Reporting lines and interactions :
The Lead role will report to the Head of Equitable Transition, Centre for the New Economy and Society, and collaborate closely with other staff across the Centre and organization. Within this structure, this role will work closely with team members from the Centre’s missions and functional practices.
Main responsibilities :
1. Support the development of new insights products and case studies, working with internal teams and partners from the private and public sectors.
2. Sustain and grow the “Equitable Transition Alliance”, steering the mobilization of leaders around this agenda and their commitments.
3. Lead the synthesis of learnings from the community and insights into the production of toolkits for the private sector and public-private collaboration playbooks for an equitable transition.
4. Support a commitment framework and/or the development of the Centre’s accelerator model to support national/industry equitable transition efforts.
5. Support the development of work plans, presentation materials, briefing documents, proposals, and pitches for internal and external audiences.
6. Lead the engagement of the private and public sectors, as well as civil society and academia, to ensure meaningful involvement in the Forum’s Equitable Transition work.
7. Track and report on internal and external KPIs, including to leadership, communities, and funders, with a focus on outcomes.
The successful candidate will be assessed on :
1. Ability to contribute to the development of insights and communities involving complex topics and multiple stakeholders.
2. Knowledge of the key elements of the equitable transition agenda(s) and ability to structure activities on the Forum platform to advance progress.
3. Strong editorial and communication skills for reports, proposals, pitches, and marketing materials.
4. Ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders from government and business, serving the Forum’s partners and constituents.
5. Report on relevant KPIs and impact metrics.
6. Ability to work in a matrix organization to successfully deliver on objectives.
7. Stay updated on relevant issues, developments, initiatives, and stakeholders related to equitable transition.
8. Develop and exemplify a strong understanding of the Centre’s mission and culture within the broader Forum context.
Requirements and preferred experience :
1. Advanced university degree in public policy, economics, business, social sciences, or relevant fields; digital upskilling is welcome.
2. 7+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in business, international organizations, or think tanks, with a good understanding of the public sector.
3. Knowledge of the equitable transition landscape, frameworks, policies, and private sector implications.
4. Advanced presentation and writing skills, demonstrated through prior publications.
5. Familiarity with socioeconomic development/climate metrics and databases is advantageous.
6. Experience in creating global, public-private partnerships is a plus.
7. Proven project management and coordination skills; attention to detail.
8. Strong relationship development and collaboration skills in multicultural teams.
9. Excellent communication skills in English, with strong digital, written, and verbal skills.
