Overview
Technical Scrum Master & DevOps Practitioner – Global Products & Solutions (GPS) 100% (f/m/d) role at Julius Baer. We are seeking an experienced Technical Scrum Master & DevOps Practitioner who will join our Agile team in the Global Products & Solutions (GPS) domain. In this dual-role capacity, you will facilitate and coach cross-functional teams in adopting SAFe principles while driving robust DevOps practices to enable continuous integration, automated testing, and reliable release pipelines.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate Agile & SAFe Execution: Coach Scrum teams in the GPS domain to effectively adopt SAFe principles and Agile practices, including Sprint and PI planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
* Enable High-Performing Teams: Empower teams to self-organize, prioritize work, and continuously improve through Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), process optimization, automation, and waste reduction
* Remove Impediments & Drive Delivery: Proactively identify and resolve blockers impacting team velocity, escalating critical issues to leadership when needed
* Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment: Partner with Product Owners, development teams, Test Management, and wider stakeholders to align on ART initiatives, track progress, and ensure transparency
* Scale Agility Across Organizations: Collaborate with fellow Scrum Masters, POs, and leaders to promote agile maturity, consistency, and a culture of innovation and collaboration
* Drive automation efforts by proposing and developing scripts
* Manage configuration, packaging and deployments of application components based on software and documentation delivered by developers
* Drive onboarding of applications to common platforms (e.g. Observability Testing Framework, CI/CD platform)
* Contribute to standardization and automation within the GPS domain and foster engineering culture within the team
* Collaborate within a highly productive team to contribute to future Software Solutions strategy
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent role
* Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
* Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical teams
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
* Certification in SAFe, such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Practitioner (SP)
* Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
* Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as Azure
* Understanding of the technology stack to maintain a successful environment, including:
o Familiarity with relevant technologies and systems used in the GPS ART
o Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
o Experience delivering software projects
o Linux administration background: packages, text processing, filesystem management, environment maintenance, logfile investigations
o Scripting skills: Unix/Linux commands, bash, Python
o Hands-on CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins, BitBucket, GitLab, Octopus, Maven, or similar
o Cloud experience: Kubernetes, Azure Application Platform (e.g. AKS), distributed architectures
o Broad understanding of the Markets flow and GPS ART products, including market data, trading platforms, and risk management systems
* Additional preferred qualifications:
o Familiarity with Web APIs (REST, GraphQL, Websocket)
o Experience with configuration of middleware such as Kafka and WebSphere MQ
o User-level knowledge of observability tools (Grafana, ElasticSearch, OpenTelemetry)
o Development background (ideally Java)
