Job Description
On behalf of our Swiss partner, we are pleased to present the following position:
Junior nanny needed in Ermatingen, Canton Thurgau
A young international household based in Ermatingen near Kreuzlingen, are seeking a part-time live-in junior nanny to start as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who loves caring for young children, enjoys spending time outdoors, and is responsible and organised.
The family has two daughters aged 7 and 2. Both parents work part-time in family businesses and often work from home, which allows for flexibility but also requires someone who can be punctual and reliable. The household is well organised, with a clear routine and support from a cleaning person for the house.
Their family languages are German and English, and the father’s mother tongue is Spanish. For this reason, they would ideally like a nanny whose mother tongue is Spanish (or with an excellent level of Spanish), so the children can grow up with greater exposure to the language.
The home is located in a residential area close to Germany and Lake Constance, with easy access to public transport, parks and nature. However, a driving licence is required to take the children to school, daycare and activities. The family sometimes travels to Germany and to Miami, and they would like the nanny to accompany them on such trips.
Duties
The nanny will work around 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime available if agreed. A typical schedule includes morning support from 7 to 9am to prepare the girls for school and daycare, followed by tidying up and light household tasks. Afternoons involve school pick-ups, activities and care until about 5pm. Evenings and weekends are generally free, though the nanny is welcome to join the family on their frequent weekend trips if desired.
Main responsibilities include:
* Morning and afternoon school and daycare runs
* Looking after the children after school, playing with them and supporting their routines
* Engaging in outdoor activities such as playground visits, walks or forest outings
* Preparing simple meals for the children and tidying the kitchen afterwards
* Light household tasks related to the children (tidying rooms, laundry, organising play areas)
* Accompanying the family on occasional trips abroad (Germany and USA)
Requirements
* Native Spanish speaker or excellent Spanish
* Some knowledge of German or English is a plus
* Childcare experience sufficient to look after two young children
* Confident driver (mandatory)
* Non-smoking position
* Reliable, punctual and responsible
* Good communicator with a respectful and open manner
* Enjoys outdoor activities and engaging actively with children
Working Hours and Package
* Around 30 hours per week (with the possibility of more, overtime paid separately)
* Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons, with evenings and weekends usually free
* Live-in accommodation with private room and private bathroom
* Gross salary between CHF 2600–3200 per month depending on experience, education and agreed hours
* Possibility to accompany the family on trips to Germany and the USA
This is a warm and welcoming international family who are looking for someone caring and fun, but also dependable and structured. They hope to find a nanny who enjoys being part of a family environment and is happy to support their daughters’ development while being a positive presence in their lives.
