About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Climate and Remote Sensing Data Analyst to join our Analytics and Software Development team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of climate science and data engineering, developing solutions that help our clients understand and respond to climate challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex climate data into actionable intelligence.
What You’ll Do
* Maintain and optimize existing Extract-Transform-Load pipelines for processing large-scale spatial and climate datasets
* Conduct advanced statistical analyses to evaluate and validate new datasets for integration into our platform
* Develop compelling showcase studies and case studies for publication in articles and white papers
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
* Create data visualizations and analytical reports that communicate complex climate insights to diverse audiences
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences (agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, biology), engineering, or computer science
* Practical experience in data analysis or related field
* Strong proficiency in scientific computing with R (preferred) or Python for data analysis
* Experience working with big geospatial data environments and SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
* Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
* Passion for climate science, climate adaptation, and risk modeling with strong knowledge of statistical methods and their application to environmental data
* Quick learner, self-motivated and autonomous with ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments with evolving requirements
* Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Fluent English (required) any other language skills (German, French and Spanish) are welcomed
* Must have valid work permit for Switzerland
