To further develop the « Valais Hydropower Plant », FMV is looking for an
Environmental Project Manager 80-100%
In this role, you will work in the Engineering department of the Production division.
Your mission
Your task is to manage projects concerning environmental impacts within the framework of concession applications for new or existing hydropower plants. You are also responsible for projects related to the ecological restoration of hydropower plants (fluctuating water levels, fish passage, and sediment management). You will accompany the projects as an environmental specialist from the planning phase through to the implementation of environmental measures. You will be a member of interdisciplinary project teams. You will also commission and supervise external environmental offices.
Your profile
* Master’s degree as a biologist, ecologist, environmental scientist, or environmental engineer (ETH or FH) with in-depth expertise in environmental impact assessments (water, nature, landscape). Good knowledge of aquatic ecology is an advantage.
* Experience with hydropower concession projects, ecological restoration of hydropower plants, or river revitalisation is an advantage
* Experience in leading interdisciplinary projects
* Strong interest in other topics relevant to hydropower projects such as technology, law, spatial planning, hydrology, and energy economics
* Dynamic and flexible personality with a desire to shape a continuously evolving environment
* Ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary project groups
* Native German or French speaker with very good knowledge of the other language
