At the FHNW School of Engineering and Environment, we offer you the opportunity to turn innovative ideas into reality, build a strong team, and make a meaningful impact through your expertise.

Your Responsibilities:

* Take an active role in advancing environmental measurement and sensor technologies at FHNW: you will further develop a dedicated team and manage a well-equipped laboratory (currently focused on aerosol measurement technology).

* Acquire and manage applied research and service projects – practice-oriented, innovative, and results-driven.
* Support the growth of your academic team with expertise and enthusiasm.
* Contribute to the strategic and technical development of the Institute for Sensors and Electronics by introducing fresh ideas and initiatives.

Your profile

* You have several years of professional experience in environmental measurement and sensor technologies – ideally gained in an industrial context – and are familiar with the challenges of developing new sensing methods.
* You demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, take initiative, and bring strong leadership and management skills.
* Your technical background is excellent: you possess in-depth knowledge of sensors and proven expertise in environmental measurement technologies – such as optical sensing or pollutant analysis.
* You have a strong professional network – preferably within Switzerland – that provides you with direct access to relevant partners and projects.
* You are passionate about teaching and ideally hold a teaching qualification – or are willing to obtain one after starting the position.
* You are a proactive, communicative individual who stands out through expertise and a clear drive to shape the future of the institute.

Your Prospects:

The FHNW encourages its staff to undertake continuous professional development in their field and beyond. Whether focused on teaching or research, lecturers are offered a variety of CPD approaches that are on equal terms and tailored to their personal circumstances: the support offered by the FHNW provides the requisite methodical tools. After all, the curiosity and professional development of the staff helps drive the development of our university - and vice versa.

Wide range of university sports

Cultural programme of lectures, concerts, theatre and films

Established implementation of equal pay

Targeted promotion of doctoral projects

Sabbatical for professors for research and practical projects
