Job Description:
Development Engineer Welded Structures Simulation
As a Development Engineer specializing in welded structures simulation, your role will involve assessing and enhancing the structural components of large two-stroke diesel engines such as crankcase, charging unit, catalytic reactor, exhaust manifold, and more.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the R&D team on technically challenging tasks, providing you with ample opportunities for significant growth in engineering expertise and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the assessment and development of structural components, primarily welded structures
* Assist in the layout, design, and optimization of components
* Conduct finite element simulations and prepare simulation reports
* Apply and improve internal FE calculation approaches
* Failure analysis and development of repair solutions in case of damages
Requirements:
* MSc Mechanical Engineering (Ing. ETH or HTL / FH or equivalent)
* Good knowledge of design and stress assessment of mechanical components
* Experience with FEM software (preferably ANSYS) required
* Experience with APDL, Python, and LaTeX is beneficial
* Fluent in English, and German proficiency is beneficial; good oral and written communication skills
* Independent, self-driven, and target-oriented way of working
