planetary is powering the bioeconomy. We are a venture capital backed bioeconomy company operating across Switzerland, EU and the UK, building industrial-scale biomanufacturing capacity and fermentation IP globally using our proprietary BioBlocks (TM) platform. Starting with food, we build, own and operate a network of industrial-scale precision fermentation facilities globally for our partners. In addition, we produce mycoprotein as a B2B food ingredient using biomass fermentation. Going forward, planetary will expand its footprint into the development of sustainable, fermentation-based bio-materials and cosmetics.
Job Description
* Reporting directly to the CFO, the Admin & Corporate Finance Associate will have the opportunity to drive future capital raising efforts and allocation strategic decisions for planetary, while driving internal initiatives for operational excellence.
* The associate will benefit from direct exposure to all outward-facing finance activities, including supporting communication with equity investors, current and prospective lenders.
This is a unique opportunity to work very closely with the senior leadership team, to help drive both planetary’s growth and sustainability missions.
Main Tasks
* Support the CFO in the execution of all type of engagements within the scope of the Corporate Governance, Investor Relations, Treasury, FP&A, Data & IT, Corporate Finance department.
* Preparation of business cases in the context of the Group’s organic development.
* Support for the management of cross-functional projects.
* Implementation of a quarterly reporting format for investors and creditors.
* Prepare presentations and reports to C-suite and Board of Directors.
* Draft presentations and other documents for both internal external stakeholders.
* Participate in due-diligence meeting.
* Work on the valuation of investment opportunities.
This role is based in the Geneva region, with possibility for a hybrid working model. Possible to start in Paris with a view to eventually relocate to Geneva by Q4 2025.
Preferred Experience
* University degree in Finance or leading business school.
* Motivated to join an impact-focused industrial firm, seeking to do well by doing good and scaling up the alternative protein industry.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills, sound attention to details.
* Between 1-2 years in corporate finance role (including M&A, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity).
* Strong oral & written communication skills in English (English is working language and strong fluency is required). French a strong plus, German a plus.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & willingness to drive AI internally.
* Sound knowledge of corporate finance, private equity and venture capital principles.
* Knowledge of the alternative protein industry, venture capital ecosystem and start-up life is a plus.
