The Country P&C and Site Manager for Switzerland is an operational manager who is end-to-end responsible for all P&C related matters and local site management in Bevaix. In this standalone role, you serve as the representative for Melexis Switzerland, ensuring that both the people strategy and site operations meet the highest standards of excellence across two distinct hubs: the main Bevaix site and the EPFL Outpost technology satellite.
The Country P&C Manager drives the implementation of the People & Culture calendar and ensures alignment with global P&C strategy while adapting to local Swiss needs. This involves overseeing P&C processes, supporting team leaders, facilitating recruitment, and providing effective services to the business.
As Site Manager, you serve as the "conductor" of the local ecosystem. You are responsible for executing the Global Site Operations (Site Ops) calendar, translating global corporate standards into local operational success, and ensuring the work environment fully supports Melexis’ cutting‑edge innovation.
The Melexis site in Bevaix is nestled in the heart of Switzerland's "Micro‑technology Valley." This location is a center of excellence for high‑precision engineering and advanced sensing solutions. Melexis Swiss counts approx 75 headcount. The role reports to the Regional People & Culture leader for Europe and in dotted line, for the site management part, to the VP Site Operations. The role is located in Bevaix, Swiss. There is 1 direct report to the role, being the Business support role for the site.
More specifically, you will:
Global Site Ops strategy Implementation: Drive the local execution of the Global Site Operations roadmap adapting global mandates to Swiss legal and technical requirements.
Lead Site Operations: Act as the local representative for the Bevaix site, fostering a positive, safe, and collaborative working environment, together with the local SIMT (site management team).
External Representation: Act as the primary point of contact for external local authorities and partners, representing the Bevaix site in the local community and industry.
Manage the Employee Lifecycle: Independently handle the entire employee journey from hire to retire for the Swiss site.
First Point of Contact for Team Leaders: Provide guidance and support to team leaders, addressing questions and concerns related to P&C policies and procedures, and guide them to the appropriate processes within the HRIS tool. Coordinate with P&C colleagues in other countries, as relevant, to solve team leads people related issues. Coach and guide team leaders on effective enabling leadership practices, fostering a culture of engagement and performance.
Implement the global P&C Calendar for Team Leaders: Execute all P&C processes, including performance management, remuneration reviews, and talent programs, ensuring alignment with global policies and local regulations.
Facilitate Recruitment: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition COE to execute functional recruitment plans (as defined by the Global HRBP's) and ensure timely fulfillment of staffing needs.
Payroll & Data Accuracy: Whilst payroll preparation is handled through the P&C team in France and actual payroll calculation is outsourced, the role is accountable for payroll accuracy and the integrity of all people‑related data for the location.
Legal & Ethical Oversight: Ensure all P&C practices respect Swiss labour laws and high ethical standards, offering expert advice to the business as required.
Functional Alignment: Partner with the 3 Centers of Excellence (Reward, P&C Automation & Data, and Talent acquisition & Talent development) and global Business Partners to ensure consistency.
Strategic Feedback: Flag site‑specific P&C needs or regulations to the Regional P&C leader for Europe to ensure they are considered at the global level.
Site Communication: Partner with Global Brand & Communications, People & Culture, Site Operations, and the SiMT (Site management team) to ensure transparent and consistent communication.
Supplier Management: Manage all local Swiss P&C service providers and suppliers.
Facility Collaboration: Maintain positive relations with Facility colleagues to enable a safe and comfortable working environment.
Lead Local Audits: Lead, coordinate, and host all local site audits, ensuring that P&C and Site Management operational records are fully compliant and ready for inspection.
Your profile
Education & Experience: Ideally a Master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of working experience.
Site Leadership: Proven ability to manage site‑wide initiatives with a servant leadership approach and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.
Legal Expertise: In‑depth knowledge of Swiss labour law and local health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills across all levels of stakeholders, internally and externally.
Operational Excellence: Well‑organised, analytical, and results‑oriented with the ability to work independently in a standalone role.
Industry Background: Experience working in a global, engineering‑driven company is a plus.
