Automation Expert & Project Manager (m/f/d)
Key Responsibilities Serve as the central automation expert for all automation, drive, control, and robotic systems in SIG's sleeve production plants.
Develop, standardize, and optimize automation, drive, control, and robotic solutions for production, quality management, and maintenance processes.
Become an expert in SIG's proprietary machine software, such as Siemens TIA and the Multi Carrier System (MCS), including robot palletizing systems and interfaces with SIG databases (e.g., WMS, MES, SAP).
Coordinate the testing, rollout, and operation of new automation functionalities and robotic systems across global production sites.
Act as a project leader or module leader within global cross-functional teams—managing resources, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Drive CAPEX projects from ideation through execution, ensuring successful handover to internal stakeholders.
Translate technical and process requirements into actionable engineering solutions and detailed technical specifications.
Lead or support installations, commissioning, and production line startups at SIG sites globally.
Support the Global Procurement team in evaluating and qualifying suppliers—both existing and potential alternatives.
Draft and support the creation of specification documents relevant to automation and systems in production, quality, and maintenance functions.
You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Relevant years of experience in industrial production, ideally in packaging or related industries.
Strong knowledge of Siemens Automation & Drive systems (e.g., TIA Portal, PCS7, Sinamics).
Experience managing cross-functional automation projects in a global environment.
Proficient in English and familiar with tools such as MS Office, AutoCAD, ePlan, and SAP.
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, can-do attitude.
Excellent communicator with a high internal customer orientation.
