About This Role
This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of retail stores across the German-speaking region of Switzerland. The Retail Area Manager will ensure stores operate efficiently, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and meet financial objectives. This role is carried out in close collaboration with the Retail Operations Manager.
Additionally, the Retail Area Manager will work on strategic initiatives in partnership with the Retail Area Manager for the French-speaking region to harmonize processes and retail standards across all Swiss stores.
This position requires a balance of field presence and administrative leadership, working cross-functionally with various departments within Ria Switzerland, including HR, Finance, Marketing, and more.
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee the operations of all retail stores in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, ensuring they meet sales goals and maintain brand standards
Collaborate closely with the Retail Operations Manager to implement and improve operational processes
Partner with the Retail Area Manager FR to align and harmonize retail practices across the Swiss territory
Conduct regular field visits to stores to support, guide, and audit store teams
Monitor KPIs, prepare detailed reporting, and implement improvement plans where necessary
Anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions to ensure smooth daily operations
Support hiring, training, and performance management of store managers in collaboration with the HR department
Coordinate with Finance for budget planning, expense tracking, and P&L analysis
Work alongside the Marketing team to implement campaigns at the store level
Participate in cross-departmental projects aimed at improving customer experience and operational efficiency
Position Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail operations or multi-store management
Proven experience in store management and/or regional retail leadership
Strong understanding of operational KPIs, retail performance metrics, and customer service standards
Fluent in German and English (French is a strong plus)
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; knowledge of retail management software is a plus
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work both in the field and in a structured, admin-based role
Comfortable with regular travel within the region and hybrid work schedules
