At Wegmans, our cashiers ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. In this role, you’ll provide proactive, exceptional customer service by assisting customers in both traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes. You will leave a lasting impression and turn first-time shoppers into loyal Wegmans customers!
What will I do?
1. Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact, smile, proactively offer assistance, and thank them for shopping at Wegmans.
2. Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments at the register.
3. Properly bag items to ensure they arrive in the same condition as when they left the store.
4. Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area, direct customers to available lanes, ensure systems are functioning properly, and assist with troubleshooting.
5. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
