We’re looking for a hands‑on Cloud / Virtualization Engineer to help design and build a modern private cloud platform based on open‑source technologies.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the infrastructure layer — combining Linux, virtualization, networking, and automation to build scalable, resilient platforms.
What You’ll Do
* Design & build a private cloud / IaaS platform (compute, virtualization, SDN)
* Work hands‑on with KVM/QEMU and libvirt for virtualization
* Implement SDN networking using OVN / Open vSwitch (tenant isolation, routing, segmentation)
* Automate provisioning & operations using Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash
* Define and operate monitoring, logging & alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch)
* Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience
* Collaborate with architecture, security, and external vendors
* Drive testing (integration, failover) and production readiness
What You Bring (Must‑Have)
* Strong Linux / System Engineering experience in production environments
* Deep hands‑on expertise in:
* KVM, QEMU, libvirt
* OVN / Open vSwitch (OVS)
* Solid networking knowledge:
* L2/L3, overlays, routing, NAT
* ACLs / Security Groups / Load Balancing / Tenant isolation
* Experience building or operating Private Cloud / IaaS / Virtualization platforms
* Experience with Git + CI/CD pipelines
* Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch)
* Understanding of security best practices (RBAC/IAM, certificates, secrets, hardening)
* Proactive mindset with strong ownership
* Fluent English (German is a plus)
Nice to Have
* Experience with Ubuntu/Canonical, Proxmox, or similar platforms
* Background in Telco / Service Provider / Managed Services
* Knowledge of SRE / DevSecOps practices
* Experience with:
* DR / BCM
* Storage integration, performance tuning, capacity planning
* Relevant certifications (Linux, Cloud, Kubernetes, Networking)
