Process Engineer - Vision Specialist – Johnson Electric
Applying for this role offers the opportunity to lead the integration of advanced camera‑based inspection systems in high‑volume manufacturing, driving innovation through machine vision and AI.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and integrate advanced vision systems across new and existing machines to enhance production lines
Collaborate closely with the current Vision Specialist to understand and streamline existing processes
Advance automation by installing and configuring cameras and other vision equipment for real‑time monitoring and inspection
Use vision systems to ensure machines operate efficiently and product flow is optimized
Develop and implement innovative applications using machine learning and AI to enhance in‑house capabilities
Analyze system data to provide insights and recommendations for improving product quality and operational efficiency
Work closely with cross‑functional teams (engineering, maintenance, operations) to align vision system goals with broader objectives
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, ensuring minimal production impact and maximum uptime
Requirements
B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
In‑depth knowledge of programming software
Knowledge of lenses, vision sensors, exposure, resolution, focal length is a plus
Experience of at least 2 years with vision systems in a modern automated manufacturing environment
Experience with PLCs and test software programming is an advantage
Knowledge of quality control processes
Ready to take on a lead role in projects and drive implementation and innovation across teams
Excellent English skills; knowledge of German or French preferred
Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe
